Structured outputs
Constraining a language model to return data in a defined schema, such as JSON with specific fields, instead of free text.
Applications usually need machine-readable results: fields to store, lists to render, actions to take. Structured outputs enforce a schema so the model's response always parses, rather than relying on instructions and brittle text parsing.
They also make interfaces cleaner: separate fields for the answer, the list items, the sources and the next action let the UI render real components instead of trusting formatting inside a paragraph.
